KUALA NERUS, 12 July 2023 – The sport of Orienteering began to expand seriously through efforts to provide a true understanding of the knowledge and rules of the competition. Terengganu State Orienteering Sports Association (PSOT) through allocation assistance Terenggan State Youth and Sports Departmentu took proactive steps to introduce this sport seriously, not only to IPT students but will be introduced to the school level.
One of the efforts is to ensure that fans of this sport are given early exposure through the organization of the Level 1 Orienteering Basic Course which is O.1. Through strategic collaboration between PSOT, JBSNT, UMT Sports and Recreation Center and UMT Orienteering Sports Club, Course O.1 was held on 11 - 12 July 2023 involving 35 participants from UMT, UniSZA, Dato' Razali Ismail Campus Teacher Education Institute, MAKSAK Terengganu and also sports and recreational activities. This course is fully managed by PSOT based on the Course Module provided by Academy of Orienteering Malaysia and the Malaysian Orienteering Sports Association Orienteering Meosc .
The Closing Ceremony and Presentation of Certificates to the participants was completed by Puan Siti Noriam Yaakob, Head of the UMT Sports and Recreation Center. In attendance, the President of PSOT, Syed Mohd Yasni Syed Yassin, was also the Trainer conducting the Course.
