05 May 2021 : About 800 packets of bubur lambuk have been distributed free of charge to students living in residential colleges and the local community by the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) in collaboration with the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs (HEPA), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) . It has become a routine that help and donations in the form of food are always provided by various concerned parties, especially for breaking the fast food in this blessed and glorious month of Ramadhan.
In order to claim this double reward, PTPTN in collaboration with HEPA has organized the Imarah Ramadhan (IMRAN) program to help UMT students. This program is a cooperative activity and cooperation in cooking bubur lambuk to be distributed to students as an additional dish for them to break their fast. The implementation of this program is expected to strengthen friendship among students, HEPA citizens and PTPTN agencies. In addition, it can also increase blessings in the month of Ramadhan by increasing charity and as a sign of gratitude in sharing sustenance with the students at UMT.
What is more interesting in the organization of this program is that the lambuk porridge is cooked in cooperation by HEPA and PTPTN staff at the UMT Residential College grounds. This cuisine has been cooked using cooking ingredients that are indeed a "signature" of authentic village cuisine and the traditional taste of real lambuk porridge. The distribution of lambuk porridge was completed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs) of UMT, YBhg. Associate Prof. Dr. Hafiz bin Zakariya. Also participating in the ceremony were representatives of the Director of PTPTN Terengganu, the Director of the Centers in HEPA and related officers.
Programs and volunteering activities like this should be made into a culture in maintaining good relations between universities, agencies and communities in addition to encouraging Ramadan with beneficial activities and then having the opportunity to increase piety to Allah SWT. Hopefully programs like this can continue in the future and may we all be blessed and blessed by Him.
