20 March 2022. A total of 252 participants consisting of state surfers throughout Malaysia, secondary and primary school students, IPTA and IPTS students and members of the public have participated Virtual Regatta Grand Final UMT Terengganu e-Sailing League 2021.
This tournament is a series tournament that started last year which is June 2020 on the official virtual sailing platform, which is Virtual Regatta.Com. This tournament is a national-level sailing electronic sports tournament that was held for the first time in Malaysia. E-Sailing is not just an ordinary virtual video game but it builds sailors' confidence to race, improves understanding of competition laws, practices competition strategies and tactics and strengthens relationships between sailors. This tournament is organized by the Sailing Training Center (PLP), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu in collaboration with the Terengganu Windsurfing Sailing Association (TWSA).
However, out of 252 people, only 10 participants were selected and qualified for the Grand Final 2021. The overall first place winner for the 2021 tournament was won by Muhammad Shaifullah Bin Ali from the state of Selangor with a total of 16 points.
