Tasik Kenyir - The Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT) in collaboration with the HEP Sports and Recreation Center, UMT has organized an Experiential Adaptive Leadership Lab (EAL-LAB) program involving participants from leadership of various grades and ranks in Public Universities. The First Series was completed on 24 – 27 September 2020 and continued with the second series on 14-16 October 2022 at Station Bidong Island UMT research.
Unlike the previous series, this time Tasik Kenyir was chosen as the final destination of the program by taking the participants to get to know and experience the atmosphere of eating and spending the night on a Houseboat. The program which started on 10-11 March 2023 was attended by 56 participants and a secretariat consisting of AKEPT representatives, Module I-Zawen Developers, Sultan Mahmud Islamic Center, KPT Human Resource Management Division (BPSM) and the AKEPT Leadership Training Effectiveness Evaluation Framework Development group (PKKK).
Participants were given a briefing on Water Safety and did water confident activities as well as kayaking around Saok Falls. Head of the UMT Sports Center who is also Head of the EAL-LAB Project, Ms. Siti Noriam bt Yaakob hopes that all participants involved in all program sessions get a different experience from other outdoor activities because UMT still maintains the concept of water activities as the main activity of the program to introduce coastal universities and UMT's nic in the marine field. "I would like to express my thanks to AKEPT who have given the opportunity to UMT, especially the Sports and Recreation Center, to implement external programs for scientists and leaders in public universities as a complement to the leadership module provided by AKEPT." he said.
Hopefully physical strengthening activities like this will continue in the future
