During the Movement Control Order (MCO) and Conditional Movement Control Order (MCO) Covid-19 implemented in Malaysia, the UMT Recreation Division successfully ran several programs on the UMT campus.
Among the activities and programs carried out in collaboration with the Talent and Innovation Development Center and the Corporate Communication Center is the Stay Fit@Home Program on 16 April 2020. This program is carried out in collaboration with Prof. Madya Zulkifli Abd Kadir, UITM Shah Alam Sports Science Lecturer.
The 2nd program conducted is on 21 April 2020, which is the Lower Body Massage Program conducted with Mr. Hafizudin Bin Mohamad, UMT Youth and Sports Assistant.
Next in the month of Ramadhan, 2 activities were successfully implemented with the organization of the Adventure Based Program as a New Normal Catalyst which was implemented together with Prof. Dr. Md Amin Bin Md Taff, Deputy Vice Chancellor HEPA UPSI and also the program "What do you want to eat today" with Mr. Mohd Izham Bin Mohamad, ISN Sports Nutrition Specialist
The program which was conducted through the Webex application successfully achieved the target by being watched by students and also UMT staff members.
The Sports and Recreation Division also organized 1 "Fitness Stay At Home" Exercise Video Competition. This competition was managed by the Student Representative Council during MCO Phase 1 and Phase 2. The Sports and Recreation Division helped in terms of publicity.
2 staff from the Sports and Recreation Division are also involved as guest hosts in several live programs on UMT TV and UMT Facebook Live.
A total of 6 Youth and Sports Officers and Assistant Officers have been appointed and involved as Escort Officers for the repatriation of stranded students on campus to their respective hometowns. The repatriation assignment throughout Malaysia starts on 2 May 2020 until 26 May 2020.
