TOGETHER LEND A HAND TO LIGHTEN THE BURDEN

July 12, 2021 : "Lend a Hand to Ease the Burden" and also the cross fence "We Take Care of You" are two slogans that are often used nowadays by all parties, especially in the media in this country. The slogan gives a great meaning to all Malaysians so that they can join together to help each other in facing the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Therefore, this matter is welcomed by all parties and it has been shown outwardly when there are various agencies that also channel donations and help to UMT students. Celcom Axiata Berhad in collaboration with the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs (HEPA), UMT has distributed 100 packs of dry food to students on and off campus. Awareness of the importance of healthy nutrition has prompted this company to provide free food to students affected by the Covid-19 disaster.

This program and assistance provided is part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and it shows the concern of the concerned parties in helping less able UMT students. This donation was presented by a representative of Celcom Axiata Berhad to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs) and was also attended by officials in both relevant departments.

This donation is channeled to take into account the constraints and difficulties of students who are unable to return to their respective hometowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the implementation of Movement Control (MCO) across the country. Indirectly, this donation can educate all citizens to share their sustenance with the needy. In addition, the high level of concern shown by donors and the university can ensure that all students inside and outside the campus always remain healthy and safe.

The university expresses its highest appreciation and gratitude to all parties involved directly and indirectly in making this program a success. The department is also always ready to cooperate with any agency or company that wishes to contribute and help UMT students who should not be marginalized in this bitter situation.
